Save Instagram Photos, Videos & Stories: Supported Options and Permissions

Saving an Instagram post in the app, downloading a media file and exporting your own account information are different actions. Start with the option Instagram or the content owner actually provides. This guide does not distribute a downloader APK or promise access to private, deleted or restricted media.

Choose the action you actually need

A saved post or bookmark keeps a reference inside the service; it is not necessarily an offline media file. If you need a local copy, check the genuine app’s available download controls or ask the owner for a permitted copy. Not every type of post has the same controls, and account or region differences can affect availability.

For your own account information, use the export/download tools available in your official account settings. Meta documents these tools in its information-management announcement. Menu labels can change, so use the current Help Center for your account rather than expecting one fixed screen path.

Check an exported or downloaded file

Confirm the account and information you selected, then inspect the delivered file type and contents. Preserve an original copy before editing or converting it. A media file and an archive of account information serve different purposes; an archive should not be assumed to restore an account or recreate every post.

Test that the files you need can be opened with compatible software. Audio, layout, metadata or other elements can differ from the in-app presentation. We do not claim that every downloaded or exported item retains the exact original quality or all licensed audio.

Do not confuse availability with reuse permission

A public post or an available download does not by itself establish permission to republish, edit or use the material commercially. Check the owner’s permission and the applicable service terms. Keep attribution and restrictions where relevant, and do not treat a third-party downloader’s button as a licence.

Private profiles, access controls and deleted content should not be treated as items a generic APK can reliably retrieve. A page claiming “private profile download” or “all stories forever” needs evidence for a lawful supported function, rather than a copied screenshot.

Evaluate a third-party tool before sharing data

Identify the developer and the permissions it requests. Do not give an unknown downloader your Instagram password, recovery codes or private account export. A file scanner does not guarantee that a service handles account information safely. Read our APK source checklist.

Frequently asked questions

Is Save the same as an offline download? No. A bookmark or saved reference can depend on the service and the post remaining available.

Can this page download a private profile? No such tool or capability is provided or verified here.

Does a “profile downloader” export my account history? A copied profile image and your own account-information export are different. Use the genuine account tools for the information they support.
