Minecraft 1.20 refers to the Trails & Tales update released in 2023. It is a historical version label, not a claim that 1.20 is the latest Android release. For today’s supported installation, use Minecraft’s official download page and the platform’s store option.

What the historical release tells us
Minecraft’s June 7, 2023 announcement introduced Trails & Tales across Java and Bedrock platforms, including Android for Bedrock. Its Bedrock 1.20.0 changelog is a primary source for that release’s changes. A download page using the same number is not proof that its file matches the publisher release.
Free update does not mean a free full-game licence
A publisher’s update announcement concerns the game’s release, not permission to obtain an unauthorised full-game copy. Distinguish an update for an owned game from a trial or a new purchase. Our Minecraft Android source guide explains the official full-game and trial starting points.
Protect worlds before changing versions
Use documented world backup or export options and verify that important copies exist before uninstalling or replacing the app. Newer worlds, add-ons, multiplayer servers and older builds may have different compatibility requirements. A desired historical feature is not a reason to assume every downgrade will preserve data or join a current server.
Evaluate an old package as a specific file
Check its exact version, developer source, signing identity, format and supported Android requirements. Do not rely on the words “1.20 APK,” “latest” or “safe” as file authentication. An unexpected signature may prevent an update from replacing the existing copy and should be investigated before removing it.
Use the right support information
Historical release notes explain what changed then; current download and support pages explain today’s supported path. If an app will not install, record the error instead of cycling through unofficial versions. Our APK version guide covers compatibility and update identity, while the installation guide covers common failure stages.

We have not installed or scanned an unidentified Minecraft 1.20 file. This page preserves the useful historical-version question and links to publisher records without advertising a verified free unlocked APK.
